This two-part session will explore how East End Middle School has implemented targeted Tier 1 and Tier 2 behavior supports and interventions to improve student behavior and academic achievement.
In the first breakout (1:20-2:20), the behavior team—comprising the principal, counselor, teachers, and ARBSS Behavior Specialists—will present the strategies, processes, and data collection tools used to establish effective behavior interventions in Tier 1 and Tier 2. Attendees will gain insight into practical approaches that have led to reduced discipline infractions, a positive school culture, and increased academic achievement.
The second breakout (2:50-3:50) will build on the presentation with a panel discussion featuring teachers, the principal, the counselor, and behavior specialists. This interactive discussion will provide firsthand perspectives on the impact of these interventions, challenges faced, and lessons learned, offering valuable takeaways for school leaders looking to strengthen their own behavior support systems.
